About Friedrich:
(2010)
The smallest of the collection, Friedrich's story started with his name.
Contrary to my usual practice of naming the dolls after their completion, I wanted to create two tiny dolls named Frieda and Friedrich.
Thus I created a dark-haired blue-eyed miniature doll Frieda (the doll has been sold) and Friedrich.
With his dishevelled red hair, nostalgic eyes and a sweet smile I think he has an air of a bohemian poet about him.
Materials used:
Brass, Cernit polymer clay, glass eyes, mohair.
Friedrich is dressed in pyjama pants made from vintage cream Silk on a belt of rich ornamental ribbon.
The shell of his dressing gown is made of Classics Cotton Lawn and the lining is of pure Silk Satin.

Total height: 16cm (including 2.5cm hair volume).
Seated height: 13cm (including 2.5cm hair volume).
